What You Receive

7 printable pages in each of 2 complete PDF files: A4 and US Letter. Each file contains five ready-coloured template sheets and two illustrated guide sheets. Choose the PDF for your paper size; you do not need to print both.

Templates include the base and walls, rotating platform, friction wheel, crank arm, bearing patches, house facade and four characters.

How It Works

Print at 100% / Actual Size, check the calibration square, cut, reinforce the moving parts, fold and glue the box. Install the axle, roller and rotating platform using the illustrated guide. Test and adjust the contact, add the house and friends, then hold the base and turn the side crank slowly.

Supplies You Provide

200-250 gsm cardstock; 1 mm non-corrugated card; two 3 mm wooden skewers; a drinking straw with 3.5-4 mm inside diameter (about 5 mm outside diameter); a thin rubber band that fits the 27 mm wheel; tacky craft glue; scissors; ruler and scoring tool. An adult cuts the skewers, slots and small holes. Supplies are not included.

This is an intermediate craft for ages 8+ with adult assistance. Small parts; not suitable for children under 3. Allow glue to dry fully. Mechanical performance depends on accurate cutting, suitable materials and adjustment; keep glue out of the bearings and never force the crank.

Approximate Size

Base: 14 x 10 x 5.5 cm. Assembled height: 17.4 cm. The crank projects beyond the side; overall width is about 18 cm.
